SOLUTION DETAILS
Versatile and adaptable design
The S30 Spring Starter is suitable for diesel engines from 1.1 to 6.6 litres (67.1 to 402.7 cubic inches) and is available in both clockwise and anti-clockwise rotation models. For smaller engines, the S20 spring starter is recommended, while the S50, S60, and S70 models cater to larger engines or those requiring enhanced cold-start capability.
Easy conversion
A two-piece mounting bracket allows quick conversion to another model by replacing part of the mounting bracket (mounting flange), making the S30 both efficient and economical.
Compact and easy to install
Radial securing screws make the S30 more compact and simplify installation compared to other mechanical starters of a similar type.
Anti-clockwise variant
While niche, anti-clockwise rotation models meet specific needs where engines lack a second starter pocket or space is limited. This option became particularly relevant with the introduction of flywheel housings that allowed for backup starters—especially in lifeboat engines. These units are simple to install, cost-effective, and operate without electrical, hydraulic, or pneumatic power.
Simple operation
The operator starts the S30 by pulling a cord attached to the starter housing, engaging the spring mechanism to turn the engine’s flywheel. It performs reliably in all weather conditions, including cold temperatures, making it ideal for outdoor and marine applications.
No external power required
As a fully manual system, the S30 offers dependable starting without the need for batteries, electricity, or other external power sources.
Proven in multiple applications
The S30 is widely used across engine brands including Caterpillar, Cummins, Detroit, Man, Perkins, Scania, and Volvo.
