Compact, rugged design

The Jetstream 4 is built for durability in harsh and dirty conditions. Its compact size makes it ideal for applications where space is limited, and it can be made even smaller by using a remote relay valve instead of the standard integrated version. A compact muffler is also available for restricted spaces.

Engine compatibility

The Jetstream 4 is suitable for engines up to 15 litres, providing reliable starting power for marine, offshore, and industrial applications.

Inertia or pre-engaged starting

- Inertia starters: Immediately rotate the pinion on activation, driving it into engagement with the ring gear. A built-in mechanism allows the pinion to bounce and retry if it doesn’t engage first time. Once the engine overspeeds the starter, a centrifugal clutch disengages the pinion.
- Pre-engaged starters: Use a relay valve to slide the pinion into the ring gear before rotation begins, eliminating gear clash. Once engaged, full pneumatic pressure is released to crank the engine.

ATEX-approved for hazardous environments

Powerstart's pre-engaged air starter motors conform to ATEX EN1834-1 and EN1834-2, certifying their safe use in flammable gas and combustible dust atmospheres. Cast iron construction and pre-engaged design ensure compliance with ATEX regulations.

Maintenance-free solution

Developed as a fit-and-forget solution, Jetstream 4 air starter motors need no lubrication. Their robust construction resists wear and corrosion, providing long-term reliability with minimal servicing.
